Dresden, June 7th, 2023 - With a kick-off event at the Fraunhofer Institute for Organic Electronics, Electron Beam and Plasma Technology FEP, the joint project "EdgeVision", funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research as part of the RUBIN funding program, started in June 2023.
The alliance consists of 10 SMEs that are leaders in their fields (deveritec GmbH, digades GmbH, Heimann Sensor GmbH, INTEGRIS LIMS GmbH (iLIMS), Racyics GmbH, sensry GmbH, Semodia GmbH, ULT AG, voice INTER connect GmbH and Wandelbots) as well as the well-known Fraunhofer FEP research institute and the Zittau-Görlitz University of Applied Sciences.
The aim of the alliance is to create a common, high-performance development platform (EdgeVision platform), which is particularly distinguished by the coordinated, energy-efficient microchips developed in the alliance (Edge AI system-on-chip, OLED microdisplay and infrared sensor) to differentiate from global competition.
The twelve consortium partners are supported by futureSAX, GlobalFoundries, Pls Development Tools, University Hospital Carl Gustav Carus and Silicon Saxony as associated partners. In the "EdgeVision" alliance, they join together to form a broad network with expertise in a wide variety of technology areas, so that fundamental research, development and production from the SoC to the finished end device is made possible in the region.
